Venue Tables - UK and Australia Manufacturing & Sales Partners
We are pleased to announce that following the development of our Venue Tables range, we will be working with two manufacturing and sales partners, one in the UK and another in Australia.
Venue was a speculative project, started as an experiment to develop an entirely authentic product from scratch without the involvement of an established manufacturer. We wanted to test our ideas and abilities to design all aspects of the product from concept to engineering to website.
In addition to the scope of design tasks, the main driver was efficiency. We wanted to see if we could produce a complete ‘market ready’ product with limited resources outside of an established corporate framework. By developing a clearly defined proposition, our overriding aim was to create an opportunity that would lead us to secure one or more partners with complementary expertise and an established route to market.
The constraints faced by having limited resources actually benefited the project, resulting in a design that is efficient to make, manage and own.
Although at one stage we considered going it alone commercially, we set out to find a partner who recognised Venue’s inherent qualities of efficiency, adaptability and simplicity. To gain exposure and market feedback, we exhibited at Clerkenwell Design Week 2022 and then the Workspace Design Show 2023. It took time and a few false starts, although over the next month Venue will be available commercially.
The first to launch will be TCW, a leading Sydney based furniture company who provide solutions to the corporate, hospitality and education sector. Along with a number of other new products TCW will be showing Venue in their Sydney showroom as part of the 69 O'Riordan Collective event on 14 September 2023. We are looking forward to being there. Then a few weeks later, we look forward to announcing our UK partner.
From Start to finish, Venue has been an interesting and rewarding exercise and our focus is now to support our partners.
