Kew gardens is a great day out any way but this canopy walk designed by Marks Barfield architects, responsible for the London Eye, is a treat. The whole structure uses Corten steel criss-crossing to look like branches.

A great view across west London and a close up look at the tree canopy.

Best bit is the donation box. Put your coins in at the top and listen to it clank down a pipe to the box on the ground.
